If you ever wanted your own personal pony, but never had the money or stable space to maintain it, My Little Pony: Friendship Gardens CD-ROM offers the chance to create, groom and play with one. The virtual pastures of Ponyland consist of two main locations: the farm and the village.

At the farm, you learn how to take care of your pony, using a hairbrush, medicine bottle, food grown in your garden, and a juice box. You'll need to keep the pony nursery tidy and exercise your pony in the paddock by placing obstacles and enticing your it to jump and explore the land. Once in the village, you can visit other ponies at Ivy's Beauty Salon, Light Heart's Game Cottage, Sundance's Dance Studio, and Morning Glory's Schoolhouse.

The beauty salon offers a chance to dress up your pony, take pictures, and style hair, while the dance studio lets you play a dancing memory game (sequencing). In the game cottage, activities include tic-tac-hoof (tic-tac-toe played with Xs and horseshoes), switch puzzles (rearranging pieces of a puzzle to make a whole picture), coloring pages, a baking game, cake decorating and five pony books with information about the residents of Friendship Gardens. The schoolhouse contains a memory game and an art board (complete with selectable backgrounds and stamps).

Great game for the younger set

I got this game for myself (I am an adult MLP collector) just for fun. I actually amused myself for quite a few hours playing with my pony, I am not afraid to admit. I brought this game back out years later for my younger couins and they loved it. It is good wholesome fun with open ended play for replay value.Essentially, the game has two parts. The first allows you to care for and raise a pony, brushing her hair, feeding her and give her medicine when she is sick etc, training her to jump and then eventually taking her to horse shows. There is also a secondary part in which you can go to the pony town and play games and dress up with the other ponies as well as make art that you can print. Fun feature: The game remembers your birthday (and the birthday of your pony) and when you play on that day, the ponies throw you a party! Especially since this game is older now, you should be able to pick a copy up cheap and its a lot of good clean fun for the little girl in your life.

Old time favorite

I had this game as a child years ago and I loved playing it.So after using google to find the name of this game I'm excitedly waiting to get the game.Honestly I'm happy amazon has it, I'm going to tell my friends who played this game to know.hahaha I know that it's old and will be odd to play but it is a fun game still that anyone can enjoy.

Sweet, decent fun

Don't expect much equine accuracy in this game, but then again- what do you expect? The horse on the cover is purple!This is a very sweet game your little girl will probably love. It doesn't take up a stack of room on the computer, is easy to learn how to use and doesnt get repetitive to quickly. A must have for horse/my little pony lovers.
